Schlather Intermediate fifth grader honored among exclusive company
Schlather Intermediate School fifth grade student Bryce Holton received a huge surprise when he was selected to be the recipient of a football by the University of Incarnate Word (UIW) football program on November 6th. It was part of the celebration of 150 years of college football, as every college football program in the nation presented a football to a child in need on the anniversary of the first college football game, November 6, 1869.
In addition to the football, Bryce received a drawstring bag, t-shirt, hat, pom-poms and game tickets from Cardinals defensive end and San Antonio native T.J. Wright. He then also presented a Cardinals’ team hat and pom-pom to every student in Melissa Reichenau’s classroom on behalf of the program.
