Amy Sirizzotti named new principal at Samuel Clemens HS

Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD Board Trustees approved the recommendation of Amy Sirizzotti as principal of Samuel Clemens High School at a called meeting held on May 26, 2020. Sirizzotti was hired as assistant principal at Clemens High School in 2016, becoming Associate Principal on the campus in 2018. She will succeed Melissa Sosa, who announced her retirement as principal at Clemens effective June 30th.

“It’s the pinnacle of everything I’ve ever wanted to do in education,” said Sirizzotti. “My heart has always been in education, in teaching kids and in helping the teachers reach their students more effectively.”

Sirizzotti was selected from a deep pool of candidates from within and outside the district.

Sirizzotti began her career in education as a teacher at Frank Tejeda Middle School in the North East Independent School District in 2001. She chaired the campus English department, taught Gifted and Talented (GT) English, served as Academic UIL Coach in three subjects, and helped coach the girls’ athletic teams.

In 2011, Sirizzotti was named assistant principal over curriculum and instruction at MacArthur High School, and later served as the district’s GT Coordinator before coming to SCUC ISD in August of 2016.

“Amy Sirizzotti is an outstanding educator with a passion for kids,” said. Dr. Clark Ealy, Superintendent of Schools. “She appreciates the tradition of excellence that has been established at Clemens over the years, and understands how important it is to build upon it as education continues to grow and evolve in the 21st century.”
