SCUC earns Healthy Workplace honors

SCUC ISD received Gold level status as part of the Healthy Workplace Recognition Program for the second consecutive year. The Initiative, guided by the San Antonio Business Group on Health (SABGH) and the Mayor’s Fitness Council, recognizes local employers for their worksite wellness efforts. SABGH works with employers and surrounding communities to promote a healthier San Antonio area by:

  • Promoting employee health and wellness education.
  • Serving as a resource for sharing programs and ideas to positively impact employee health.
  • Publicly recognizing local employers for best practices in workplace health promotion.
  • Supporting strategic and economic solutions—addressing employers top health issues and ensuring employee accountability.
  • Working with the health care delivery system to address rising health care costs and improve outcomes.

Worksite wellness programs are assessed in these key areas:

  • Culture
  • Health Promotion and Education
  • Physical Activity
  • Nutrition
  • Smoking and Tobacco Use
  • Health Benefits and Value-Based Benefit Design
