Samuel Clemens High School head football coach Jared Johnston has been selected to coach the Black squad in the San Antonio Sports High School All-Star football game, presented by H-E-B, to be held in the Alamodome on January 4, 2020, immediately following the All-American Bowl.
Meanwhile six SCUC ISD student-athletes will compete in the contest. Vicente Perez, receiver; Derrick Lewis, linebacker; and Keion Bennett, linebacker, will represent Clemens and play for Johnston on the Black team. Daryn McKnight, receiver; Damion Hart, defensive end; and Maison Sharp, safety, will represent Byron P. Steele High School and play for the Gold team.
One hundred ten (110) student-athletes, encompassing 61 high schools in the greater San Antonio-area will compete in the 42nd annual contest. Last year, 69 seniors who took part in the contest went on to play college football.
The San Antonio Sports All-Star Football Game, presented by H-E-B, will be televised locally on CW 35.
