Justin Linthicum Approved as the Associate Principal at Byron P. Steele II H.S.

SCUC Board Trustees approved the recommendation of Justin Linthicum to become the Associate Principal at Byron P. Steele High School. The appointment was made at the regular monthly meeting held on March 19, 2024.  Mr. Linthicum began serving in that position in an interim capacity just prior to the district’s Spring Break during the week of March 11-15 after beginning the school year as an assistant principal.

“I am humbled and excited to have the opportunity,” said Mr. Linthicum, who spent six years at Steele HS as an English teacher and head soccer coach prior to serving in a similar capacity at Marion ISD.  “My fondest memories as a teacher and coach took place at Steele High School. I am eager to help sustain and grow the legacy of excellence that was established in August of 2005, when the doors to the school first opened.”

The SCUC roots run deep for the Linthicum family. His wife, Molly, is a PE teacher at Wiederstein Elementary School, and their two sons, Jace and Jonah, attend school there, and he says are destined to become “future Knights”.

Mr. Linthicum obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from UT-Permian Basin in 2009 and a Masters in Education Leadership from West Texas A&M in 2017.

“My passion is championing and advocating for ALL students, staff and public education,” Linthicum said. “I have an unwavering belief that, as educators, we have the opportunity to positively impact the trajectory of students’ lives every single day.”
