Schlather IS student appears on The Ellen Show

Vincent Arambula, a fifth-grade student at Schlather Intermediate School, is scheduled to appear on the Ellen Degeneres show this afternoon, along with his parents, to meet up with guest host Robert Downey, Jr. The segment will air sometime during the hour-long show, which begins at 3:00 p.m.

Arambula was diagnosed with autism at a young age, and he and his parents recount how donning an Ironman mask, like the one Downey used in his movie series, helped Vincent begin to communicate and express himself.

Downey surprised the parents, as they were presented a $20,000 check to assist with Vincent's continued therapy, courtesy of Shutterfly, at the end of the segment.
