Outgoing Trustees honored
Outgoing SCUC ISD Board Trustees Amy Driesbach and David Pevoto were honored for their 20 years of combined service at a retirement reception on October 14th, appropriately held in the board room of the William Malish Building. Three of their fellow school board members were in attendance at the gathering, as was Dr. Clark Ealy, Superintendent of Schools, and numerous employees past and present.
Mrs. Driesbach, who is the Board President, has served since 2015 and started her career as a teacher before transitioning to an educational math consultant. She comes from a long line of educators. Her mother, grandmother and two aunts all served as teachers.
Meanwhile, Mr. Pevoto has spent the last 14 years on the school board. Prior to becoming a member of the Board of Trustees, Mr. Pevoto served as a teacher and an administrator at SCUC, was named Administrator of the Year in 1994 and later given the SCUC ISD Lifetime Achievement Award in 2006 when he retired from education. Mr. Pevoto has also served as a founding member of the District’s Education Foundation, which was established in 2008.
His wife, Mary Pevoto, was the first principal at Byron P. Steele High School while his granddaughters, Lyla and Kooper, both attend SCUC ISD schools. We thank them for their service and wish them both a long and fruitful retirement!
