Seven SCUC ISD student-athletes selected for SA All-Star Football Game
Seven SCUC ISD student-athletes have been selected to take part in the San Antonio Sports All-Star
Football Game, presented by H-E-B, showcasing the top local high school football players on Saturday,
January 8, 2022 in the Alamodome.
Tevon Cortez, defensive back; Josh Fahrner, linebacker; and Israel Ortiz, offensive lineman; will represent Byron P. Steele High School as part of Team Gold. Meanwhile, Miles Curry, defensive back; Sebastian Garcia, defensive tackle; Christen Holt, offensive lineman; and Noah Villegas, kicker; will play for Team Black representing Samuel Clemens High School.
Players are nominated by their high school coaches and chosen by a selection committee featuring broadcasters, journalists and former coaches. In addition to physical skills, players who are All-Stars reflect perseverance, character and inner strength.
The San Antonio Sports All-Star Football Game is televised on CW35 and broadcast on ESPN 1250 radio in San Antonio. The 44th edition of the San Antonio Sports All-Star Game will kick off at 5:00 p.m. The contest follows the All-American Bowl, which kicks off at noon.
