The Reading Lab

The Reading Lab at John A. Sippel Elementary is intended to provide small group intervention instruction for students with Dyslexia.

My name is Ms. Nesloney and I am the Dyslexia Interventionist who works with these small instructional groups. I have been a teacher in the Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City I.S.D for 23 years. During the first 11 years of my career, I taught as a self-contained classroom teacher. This my 12th year serving as a Dyslexia Interventionist.  I truly enjoy this role because I am able to focus solely on the area of reading which is my passion.  In addition, I find it very rewarding to work with students who are struggling learners.  I am able to help inspire confidence in these students and give them the tools they need to increase their reading skills.

I have tried to put together some useful information on this website pertaining to the reading process, reading disorders, as well as some useful resources for parents, students, and teachers.

 

 

ATTENTION PARENTS:  Due to the current school closure, I am asking that all Dyslexic students continue working in the Lexia program in order to continue their learning. 

The requirement is to have your child work on Lexia for a minimum of 45 minutes each week.  You can break that time up how you see fit (ex:  10 minutes/5 days per week, 15 minutes/3 days per week, 25 minutes/2days per week, etc.).

 

I will be contacting all parents soon to be sure that your child knows how to access the Lexia program at home.  Below, I have included the Lexia letter on how to access the program.
