Hello and Welcome! 

My name is Catherine Smietana and I recently moved back to the great state of Texas! Growing up, I moved around numerous times: Nebraska, California, Maine, and Texas. Moving has allowed me to learn and grow so much. I love experiencing new places! 

I am a graduate of Sul Ross State University. I have a BA in Communication (2013) and a Masters in General Education (2015). 

For the past five years, I lived in Southern California (2015-2020). I taught English and coached cheerleading in the Coachella Valley at Shadow Hills High School. 

This year I will be teaching English 2. You can also find me assisting the dance team! 

I am excited to embark on this new journey at Steele High School.
