    Explaining the PTC

What’s a PTC? A PTC is a Parent Teacher Club, similar to a PTA or PTO but with a few differences. Every PTC is independent, which means each PTC is able to respond to the needs of its own campus. It also means every penny earned in our fundraiser stays here at our school. Additionally, there are no dues, no required volunteer hours or anything else.

What does the PTC do?  The GV PTC supports the faculty, staff, students, and parents of the Green Valley Elementary with volunteers, events and fundraising. The funds raised provide school enhancements outside the normal budgetary allowances. The volunteers arrange and facilitate functions for the teachers, staff, students, and parents of the school.

How do I find out what’s going on with the PTC?

Keep an eye out for newsletters sent home with your child or check this website often for updates or like us on Facebook at Green Valley PTC. We also periodically send email containing updates, information and general communication.

How can I become involved with the PTC? Send us an email! We are always looking for new members and would LOVE to hear from you!!

     Perfect Day Forms

Perfect Day Forms: The PTC has asked each member of the Green Valley faculty & staff to complete a Perfect Day Form. These forms include the person’s favorites: favorite snacks, color, places to eat and shop, sports teams, etc. We are posting those here for your convenience. Perfect Day forms are available for viewing in the office as well. Please note that this is not a solicitation by your teachers or staff, but a service provided by the PTC for those parents who might like to know more about their children’s teachers.  See the link below for Perfect Day Forms.

     Fundraising

There are several ways that the PTC works throughout the year to raise funds for our school. Per district guidelines we are allowed only one fundraiser during the year. The content of this fundraiser is generally decided upon and scheduled in the spring of the prior school year. This is, by far, where the bulk of the funds that are given back to the school come from. There are, however, several other ways that we are able to earn passive income. These include:

Restaurant Nights: The PTC Restaurant Night Coordinator schedules nights with area restaurants that are willing to donate a percentage of their sales to the Green Valley PTC. The percentage varies from 10% - 25%. We will send a reminder e-mail and a flyer home with your child (if applicable) as a reminder of the events.

Box Tops For Education: There are hundreds of participating products that have "Box Tops for Education" tags on their packaging. When you purchase one of these items, please clip the Box Top and save it. There are lots of fun contests during the year where the kids can win great prizes such as extra recesses, popcorn parties, etc. Every Box Top turned in earns Green Valley 10¢ in real money!!  For a list of participating products click: http://www.boxtops4education.com/earn/clip/Brands.aspx.

     Spirit Items

Our current Grizzly Spirit items include two different t-shirts, dog tags, spirit sticks and a bracelet. Wear your Grizzly Gear every Friday to show your school spirit! We will have a Spirit Store open once a month during lunch period.
