CMSgt (Ret) Jeffrey M. Gideon
Chief Master Sergeant Jeffrey M. Gideon grew up in Conroe, Texas, and entered the Air Force in November 1989. His background includes numerous leadership roles at squadron, group, field operating agency, and combatant command levels. He has been stationed at locations in Germany, United Kingdom, New Mexico, Texas, Qatar, and Virginia as well as nine deployments in support of combat operations where he worked in a variety of positions across the Services and Force Support career fields. Chief Gideon also served as a HQ AFCENT Services Superintendent and food service flight chief in support of Operations ENDURING FREEDOM and IRAQI FREEDOM at Al Udeid AB, Qatar; deployed as the Expeditionary Force Support Superintendent assigned to the 447th Air Expeditionary Group, Sather AB, Iraq in support of Operation NEW DAWN; and Expeditionary Force Support Squadron Superintendent assigned to the 386th Air Expeditionary Wing, Ali Al Salem AB, Kuwait in support of Operation INHERENT RESOLVE. He has been in his current position as the AFJROTC Instructor at Samuel Clemens High School, Schertz, TX, since July 2018. Chief Gideon is married to SMSgt (Ret) Becky Gideon and they have six children, Nicole, Laurel, Ian, Emily, Teagon, and Mickaela.

JROTC COURSE DESCRIPTION:
AFJROTC is a three- or four-year program for high school studnets. The fourth year is available in schools that have nonth through twelfth grade. The curriculum includes Aerospace Science (AS), Leadership Education (LE) and Wellness. All students will be given credit towards graduation for successful completion of the AFJROTC program per the Air Force School Agreement. Each academic course must consist of an AS component (40%), an LE component (40%), and a Wellness component (20%). JROTC is part of the Public Service endorsement.
