SMSgt Catherine Butler
Senior Master Sergeant Catherine Butler was born in Ames, Iowa on 30 April 1970. She graduated from Ames High School, Ames, Iowa in 1988. She was a Varsity Track member (3,000 M) and on the Junior Varsity Cross Country team. She was also the President of her High School DECA Club. She enlisted in the Air Force in March 1990 and after completing basic training, SMSgt Butler attended Financial Services Craftsman Training at Sheppard AFB, TX. During her career SMSgt Butler has served in both Financial Services and Budget career field. In 2011, she was selected for a Special Duty Assignment as a Military Training Leader, and was the Reserve Liaison to all Reservists completing Basic Military Training and the surrounding Technical Training Schools. She is married to Voyd Butler, who is also retired Air Force and currently a civilian employee at Lackland AFB, TX. They have have six children, Anthony Foster, Andrew Foster, Alexis Butler, Ashton Butler, Ashley Butler, and Angel Butler and two grandchildren, Grayson and Genevieve Foster.
SMSgt Butler teaches AS1 and AS2 cadets. She in charge of the Honor Guard and the coach for the TX-082 Thunderbolts Drill Team.

JROTC COURSE DESCRIPTION:
AFJROTC is a three- or four-year program for high school students. The fourth year is available in schools that have ninth through twelfth grade. The curriculum includes Aerospace Science (AS), Leadership Education (LE) and Wellness. All students will be given credit towards graduation for successful completion of the AFJROTC program per the Air Force School Agreement. Each academic course must consist of an AS component (40%), an LE component (40%), and a Wellness component (20%). JROTC is part of the Public Service Endorsement.
