Connections Individual and Family Services (Connections) is a 501 (c) 3 private, non-profit organization that was founded by a group of community leaders in 1981 to provide a safe and secure alternative to the “streets” for homeless, abused, or at-risk youth. Today, Connections provides program services in eighteen (18) rural counties and operates thirteen (13) counseling offices and three (3) residential locations. Connections serves the following counties: Aransas, Atascosa, Bastrop, Bee, Caldwell, Comal, Frio, Goliad, Gonzales, Guadalupe, Karnes, Lee, Live Oak, McMullen, Refugio, San Patricio, Wilson, and Zavala.
Currently, the agency provides social services to families and individuals to include:
- Counseling and prevention education services for youth, adults, and families
- Short-term residential services for runaway, abused or neglected, homeless, and at-risk youth
- Chrysalis Transitional Living Program for older youth ages 16-21
- Crisis hotline and referral services
- Kids Exchange/supervised visitation services.
- Substance Abuse Prevention
(See our services section for more detailed information about our services.)
Through these comprehensive services, Connections offers a safety net for “at-risk” youth. Further, the agency collaborates extensively with schools, non-profit agencies, churches, representatives of government agencies, and other youth-serving resources to foster community efforts toward:
- Empowering Youth
- Connecting Families
- Building Futures
Over the past five years, services have reached an average of 5,000 youth and families annually. The funds Connections receives directly impact the difference the agency can make.
Connections appreciates your interest, and we hope that you support us in our mission of
“Providing youth, families and communities opportunities for a brighter future”
