My Home Page

  • WELCOME!

Thank you for taking the time to visit my page. I believe that every child should be afforded an outlet to express themselves freely in the hopes of building self esteem, self reliance, and self worth. On top of the opportunity for free expression, students in my class can expect to learn how to integrate and manipulate the Art Elements/Principles and problem solve in order to create successful pieces of art work. Some of the art techniques taught are: sketching, drawing, painting, weaving, shading, and printing.  Diversity is very much celebrated in my classroom!  I love exposing my students to different cultures from around the world through different art projects and music. I look forward to working with your child and encouraging them to think outside of the box!

    A Little About Me:

This is my third year at Corbett and my 10th year teaching.  I am certified in Art EC-12 and have taught Art at all levels, K-12.  I have a BA in Art with an Emphasis in Drawing from the University of Northern Iowa and a MA in Counseling from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Besides teaching Art, I am also the Peer Mediation Teacher and the club sponsor for GSAFE (Gay & Sexualities Alliance).  Outside of teaching I enjoy working out, gardening, working on projects, and going on adventures with my son.
