Welcome to Mrs. Richardson's Website!
Dear Parents and Students!
Dear Parents and Students!
I am super excited about starting this awesome school year! Welcome to Corbett Junior High th Grade ELA. This is going to be a challenging, yet fun year in ELA. I will be spending some time getting everything together, but I would appreciate any suggestions along the way. There are many areas to the website that I know you will find great value in visiting. I will constantly update the website, as I find materials that will be of interest to students and parents. My goal is to make the website not just a tool for me, but also to connect with parents and students. I am looking forward to getting to know each and every one of you and your parents!
About Me:
I was raised in Georgia, but I have quite a diverse background in teaching and administration. After I completed my Bachelor's degree in English, I began teaching middle school in Georgia. Eventually, My family and I decided to move to Omaha, Nebraska, where I taught middle school and completed two Master's degrees. After several years, I moved back to Atlanta. As a USAF Veteran, my husband's career transferred us to San Antonio, Texas in 2012. As a blended family, we have 5 sons: two live in Atlanta and three are in Omaha, Nebraska.
Thank you for sharing your children with me, and I am excited about opening up a wonderful world of learning with each and every one of them.
Please feel free to contact me at grichardson@scuc.txed.net and or Remind 101.
Have An Awesome Year,
Mrs. Richardson

Required Novel
-
August 17th, all students will be required to have a novel of their own to read. Your novel selection needs to be FICTION. Find a novel that is engaging, interesting, and on your level. Please make sure your novel is not a picture book, not a graphic novel, has 100 pages or more, one you have not read before, and is age and grade appropriate.
Typically, teachers would take students to the school library or allow them to use the teacher's classroom library. With the unfortunate current situation, teachers will not be able to do this, so students will need to obtain his/her own novel. This will be used with classroom instruction. This is separate from any summer reading.
Please remember to make good choices so that we do not have to change your book selection. We look forward to meeting you soon!
