ATTENDANCE AFFECTS YOUR EDUCATION!!The bell to release students to their lockers rings at 8:05 a.m. and the tardy bell rings at 8:15 a.m. each morning. Students will be counted tardy if they are not in their seats by the tardy bell.Official Attendance is taken at 9:35 AM
**Remember to send in an excuse note anytime your child is absent. Calling in a student absent does not excuse the absence--only a written note or e-mail from a parent/care provider will excuse the absence. If the student spends some part of the day in school and he/she is out for a medical/dental appointment, a note from the care provider is required to excuse the absence. You can also click on this link; Corbett Attendance form and submit an absence note.
An absence is considered unexcused when a note is not provided within 3 days of returning from the absence. This includes when a student is signed out for the day. A note is still required to be an excused absence for those students that are signed out early.
3 unexcused absences will result in a Truancy Warning Letter from the Truancy Officer. Further unexcused absences will most likely result in court fines.
A doctor's note is required for any student that is signed out of school prior to 3:15. Early sign outs for any other reason are considered unexcused.
A student is allowed 9 absences per semester (18 per school year) in order to meet the Compulsory Attendance Law's 10% rule. Absences over these amounts may result in loss of credit and/or grade retention.
