Academics
Ray
D. Corbett Junior High School offers the district's 7th and 8th grade
students a full curriculum of academic courses, as well as a large
array of extracurricular activities. A seven-period day provides the
framework for both accelerated and regular instruction in the major
subject areas, including computer technology as well as a variety of
other elective courses. Students may choose from Spanish, band, choir,
theater arts, journalism, art, industrial technology, career
exploration, and health. Special education, content mastery, and
reading improvement courses are available as needed. Corbett students
may belong to the Student Council, National Junior Honor Society, FCA
(Fellowship of Christian Athletes), and yearbook/newspaper staff.
Opportunities are also available for students to participate in
cheerleading, sports, and UIL competition.
