The Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City Independent School District (SCUCISD) inducted members in the Hall of Honor on May 7, 2013. The induction ceremony was held at 4:30 p.m. at the Schertz Civic Center in conjunction with the District’s Commitment to Excellence Awards Ceremony for its employees.
The following individuals were inducted for 2013:
Distinguished Community Partner - Janet Travernier
Ms. Travernier is the owner and operator of Schlotzskys Deli on 3009. She has been a strong and tireless partner of our Work Program for many years. Our Work Program serves students from Clemens and Steele high schools who have special needs and who have a wide range of disabilities.
Distinguished Community Member - Kurt Housley
Mr. Housley graduated from Samuel Clemens HS in 1974. He has owned and operated Champion Floors for over 25 years. He has sponsored and donated to many students, sports teams, families, churches, military, and organizations in the area. Through his business he donated and installed flooring for an entire home of a student in the district whose family was in need. Champion Floors is an active partner in the community today.

Brigadier General (retired) John Del Toro
John grew up on family property on Schaefer Road. John graduated from Samuel Clemens in 1977 and participated in the basketball and baseball programs. He graduated from the US Air Force Academy in 1981. Upon entering the active duty Air Force, John was assigned to pilot training at Laughlin AFB and earned his pilot's wings in 1982. After several assignments from instructor pilot to Deputy Commander, he ultimately retired with the rank of Brigadier General. John is currently on furlough with the airlines for employment in the Middle East, and is working in the United Arab Emirates.
Distinguished Former Employee - Robert Lehnhoff
Coach Lehnhoff started his 38 year career with SCUCISD in 1974 as a middle school coach. Robert was Clemens' head coach from 1982-2004, served as Director of Athletics from 2005 to his retirement in 2012. He had a 182-80-4 record as head coach, including trips to the state semifinals in 1999 and 2003.
