Class Rules

  • The class rules are simple:

Be Responsible- Turn work in on time, take care of your items and those in the classroom, remember to push in your chair...

Be in Self Control-Keep your hands to yourself, don't shout out in the classroom, walk in the school...

Be Respectful- Listen to others, don't interrupt, use kind words...

Be Productive-Complete work in a timely fashion, use downtime wisely, help others...

Be Trustworthy-Turn in things you find-someone may be missing them, use pencils and crayons for papers not walls and classroom furniture, speak kindly of classmates...

As your students spend their last year in elementary school, we feel that it is very important to encourage independence.  These rules are the responsibility of each student.  We will discuss them throughout the year and they will be encouraged to demonstrate their understanding of these rules.

There are consequences for failing to follow the class rules.  Students will lose a DOJO point. There are also consequences for following the class rules.  A student can earn DOJO points for bringing homework and forms back on time and for correct classroom and school behavior.

I have told all students to come to me if they feel they are being bullied.  We discussed what it is to be bullied and if you have questions, please ask them.  If you still aren't sure what is considered bullying, please contact me.  Our district will not tolerate bullying.  I have told my students that the only way I can help them is if they tell me, so if you hear of any problems your child is having please ask if he/she has spoken to me about what is going on.  If your child is uncomfortable talking to me, then please suggest the school counsellor, Mrs. Rosales.
