Proclamation 2020 - Adoption Information
The evaluation and adoption of instructional materials under Proclamation 2020 is currently underway. During the adoption process, SCUCISD operates as a closed district. All publishers with materials related to Proclamation 2020 should contact only the District Instructional Materials Coordinator, Kelley Mosley. Campus instructional staff should not be contacted by publishers.
To find which publishers have SBOE-approved materials for various courses along with the interoperability of the materials, please visit TEA's Proclamation 2020 site.
The Proclamation 2020 webpage also has access to the Proclamation 2020 Adoption Samples. The State Board of Education requires that all adoption samples of instructional materials be made available to the public online.

Proclamation 2020 - Adoption Information
The SBOE issued Proclamation 2021 at its June 2019 meeting to call for English and Spanish PreKindergarten Systems. The adoption of materials under Proclamation 2021 is scheduled to occur in November 2020. The adopted materials are scheduled to go into classrooms in the 2021–22 school year.

To nominate yourself or someone else to serve on the Proclamation 2021 state review panel, complete and submit the Educator Committee Application. TEA will notify candidates of their appointment to the panel in March 2020, and the panel will convene in Austin in summer 2020.
Samples of materials submitted for consideration will be available for public viewing at TEA and each of the 20 education service centers beginning April 2020.
Texas Education Agency needs volunteers & nominees to review prekindergarten systems materials to determine the extent to which the materials address the Texas Prekindergarten Guidelines.
Teachers, administrators, parents, business community members, and others with appropriate content knowledge are all welcome. Candidates must be available during June and July 2020, be proficient in Microsoft Excel, and be able to read on a computer screen for an extended period of time.
Nomination/volunteer forms are available on the Texas Education Agency website. When asked for your committee selection, choose Proclamation 2021 State Review Panel.
Health & PE TEKS Info
The SBOE approves individuals to serve on the TEKS review work groups to make recommendations for revisions to the standards. TEA is accepting applications for work group members for the review and revision of the TEKS for health education and physical education.TEA would like to encourage classroom teachers to apply to serve on the health education and physical education TEKS review work groups.
Additional information and updates regarding the review and revision of the TEKS for these two subjects will be shared on the health education and physical education TEKS review web pages.

Science TEKS Info
The State Board of Education (SBOE) is scheduled to begin its process to review and revise the science Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) in January 2020. As part of this process, the Texas Education Agency (TEA) will convene a series of work groups to make recommendations to the SBOE for revising the science TEKS. TEA is surveying educators to help inform the recommendations of the science work groups. Please note that the deadline for submitting the Science TEKS Review Survey is January 31, 2020.

Science TEKS Review Work Group Application
The State Board of Education will soon begin the review and revision of the K–12 science TEKS. The SBOE’s TEKS review and revision process calls for multiple, separate work groups to make recommendations to the board for revisions to the current standards. SBOE members nominate individuals, including educators, parents, business and industry representatives, and employers, to serve on TEKS review work groups.
The SBOE is now accepting applications for science TEKS review work groups. Applications received will be submitted to SBOE members for review throughout the process. Individuals selected will be asked to serve on one or more work groups. The TEKS review work groups will convene in Austin for a minimum of one face-to-face meeting. Additional meetings may be conducted via webinar.
