Dual Credit- Alamo Colleges
Dual credit is a process by which a high school student may enroll in a college course offered at their home high school and receive academic credit for the course from both the college and the high school simultaneously. SCUCISD partners with Alamo Colleges to offer this opportunity for our students. All SCUCISD teachers instructing these courses have been credentialed by Alamo Colleges and are considered adjunct faculty. In order to participate in Dual Credit, students must demonstrate college readiness through a placement exam (TSI, SAT, ACT).

Dual Enrollment- OnRamps
SCUC students in Dual Enrollment will participate in the UT On Ramps program. While enrolled in this program, students will be instructed by their SCUC teacher while simultaneously receiving instruction from a professor at UT Austin. Students will work toward earning a college credit while also earning a high school credit in the course for which they are enrolled. SCUC teachers instructing On Ramps courses go through intensive, on-going professional development provided by the University of Texas at Austin to align to the instructional rigor of the course offered at the high school to those offered at the university. On Ramps is open enrollment, however, students must be deemed college ready at the end of the first semester to be eligible to continue working
toward college credit. Students not identified as college ready at the end of semester 1 may take the TSI assessment (earn a minimum score) that will allow them to continue in the course for college and high school credit.Link to the UT OnRamps Website

Advanced Placement- AP (College Board)
The Advanced Placement (AP) Program consists of college-level courses and exams provided on the high school campus and is open enrollment. Teachers who instruct AP courses attend professional learning institutes provided by the College Board which provide training and curriculum that will assist in preparing our students for the end of year assessments. The Advanced Placement Program is a national program administered by the College Board. For students who are willing and able to apply themselves to college level studies while in high school, the program enriches both the secondary and post-secondary educational experience. It also provides the means for colleges to grant credit, placement, or both to students who have attained a high level of mastery on an AP Exam. Upon completion of an AP course, a student may elect to take the AP Exam. Colleges may award credit based on the score of the AP Exam.

International Baccalaureate -IB (Clemens Only)
The IB Diploma Programme is an internationally-recognized, rigorous two-year college preparatory curriculum that challenges students during their junior and senior years of high school. Teachers who instruct IB courses attend professional learning institutes provided by the International Baccalaureate Organization which provides training and curriculum that will assist in preparing students for the end of year assessments. The IB Diploma Programme is open to any qualified student willing and able to apply themselves to college level studies while in high school. The program enriches both the secondary and post-secondary educational experience, teaching students to think critically and independently as well as how to inquire with care and logic. The IB Diploma Programme provides opportunities for students to earn college credit through showing a high level of mastery on IB exams. Colleges may award credit based on the score of the IB exam.
