Our goal is to promote choice in reading and immerse students in texts that will engage them in thinking critically about the world. Teachers and librarians selected titles that represent a variety of voices, cultures, and perspectives. We recommend students read at least one book off the list or any other book that piques their curiosity. Students do not have a required assignment to complete over their book prior to school starting. However, they should be prepared to discuss their reading choices with classmates and their teacher upon returning in August.
