• Important Information from 



    School Hours 

    The school doors open at 7:00 a.m. for breakfast. After breakfast or as the children arrive, students will be escorted to the Cafe.  At 7:15 fourth grade students will be escorted by fourth grade teachers to the fourth-grade hall.  Students will sit quietly in the hall until the bell rings at 7:30.  Fourth grade students are expected to keep a book or journal in their backpack to help keep them engaged in a task during the time they are waiting in the hall. The tardy bell rings at 7:40.  


    Bus Riders will be escorted to the Cafeteria for dismissal at 2:40. 

     Daycare students will be escorted to the Day Care Vans for pickup at 2:40.  

     Car riders will be taken to the GYM for parent pick-up at that begins at 2:45.   

    Walkers and Bike Riders will be escorted to the GYM at 2:45.    

    Belmont Walkers and Fairlawn Walkers will be escorted to the designated pick up areas.  Parents are not allowed to enter the GYM during dismissal. 

    If there is any change in the usual way your child leaves school, we MUST have a signed note from a parent indicating the change.  You can also call the school before 1:30 to make necessary arrangements.   

     Please do not send an email informing me of a change.  I may not be able to check my email or I may be off campus. 



    If your child is absent, please contact the school office by 9:30 a.m.  If your child will be out for several days, please also contact our attendance clerk, Mrs. Hufford, at 210-619-4600. 

    It is important to promptly send a written note (with-in 3 days of an absence) that includes your child’s first and last name, teacher’s name, date of absence(s) and reason for absence once your child returns to school.    


    Lunch Times 

    We will eat lunch from 11:25-12:10. Parents are always welcome to come and eat lunch with their child (except for state mandated testing days or during closed campus days).  If you plan on having lunch with your child, please check in with the receptionist.  You and your child can sit at one of the designated parent tables.  Due to food allergies and other concerns, please DO NOT invite any classmates to join you and your child for lunch.  In addition, please do not bring in any outside food for other children. 


    Class Birthdays 

    Students will be allowed to bring in treats to celebrate their birthday. If you would like to provide a treat for your child’s birthday, please write me a note or let me know in advance on Classroom DOJO so that I can plan our day accordingly.  Treats will be shared after lunch or at the end of the day. Treats must be store bought, sealed and should not contain any peanut products (due to allergies). Some great ideas are Cookies, doughnuts, cupcakes, etc.  


    Specials (Conference Time) 1:40-2:35 

    Our Specials time is from 1:40-2:35 . We will rotate specials classes each day.  Please make sure students are dressed appropriately on P.E. days.    

    Rhythm Wednesday’s- Students will go to the GYM every Wednesday as a grade level to incorporate whole group rhythm, beat, dance, and movement skills.  PE shoes will be required every Wednesday as well as on PE Days. 


    Grades and Report Cards 

    Report cards are handed out every nine weeks.    


    Volunteers are needed to assist in a variety of areas outside of the classroom.  

    We do many activities throughout the year that require donations of supplies. I will send home letters when supplies are needed.  The district requires that all volunteers working with students pass a criminal background checkI am looking for a few special volunteers. 

    Below is a list of the opportunities: 

    Weekly Copy Volunteer:  help during the week with copying, cutting, laminating, or various other jobs at the school. 

    At Home Volunteer: help from the comfort of your own home with cutting, and various other jobs needed. 

    Field Trip Chaperone: must also have a criminal background check completed 



    Parents are required to personally deliver all medications to the school nurse.  

     Please do not send any medications (including cough drops) to school with your child. 


    Students leaving school early 

    If you need to pick your child up early from school, you MUST sign them out in the office and have the office staff call down to our room to dismiss your child.   

    School policy does not allow me to release your child directly from the classroom. 


    Teacher Requests 

     Please label your child’s school supplies (this includes coats and lunch boxes). 

     Please help your child remember their lunch number or student ID number. Students use this number for lunch and when using school computers/software.
