New Hire Benefits Enrollment Information

  • Please complete your New Hire Online Benefits Enrollment within 30 days of your start date.  Failure to do so will result in ineligibility to enroll yourself and your dependent(s) in any of the benefit plans until Open Enrollment, unless you experience a qualifiying event. 

    If you complete the online benefits enrollment, benefits will be effective on the first of the following month after your employment start date

    Premium deductions begin after your Benefits effective date, if you enroll.  Deductions for premiums are taken from the first available paycheck after you enroll and will be retroactive to your Benefits effective date. This means there may be multiple deductions from your paycheck after you enroll.  In order to avoid double or triple benefit deductions on your first available paycheck, please enroll in benefits online as soon as possible after your employment start date.

    Basic Life and AD&D Insurance:  As a benefits eligible employee, you are covered for $25,000 Basic Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) at no cost to you.  As a new hire or an employee eligible for benefits for the first time, you must complete the Beneficiary section of the Benefits Enrollmenteven if you are declining all other benefits.

     

    Please review the Benefits Guide for information concerning the benifit plans offered through the Schertz Cibolo Universal City ISD and enroll in Benefits within 30 days of your start date.

     

    Enrollment Instructions

    Online Enrollment:

    1. Access your benefits online: https://www.scucbenefits.com/
    2. Enter your username. Your username is the first initial of your first name, the first sixcharacters of your last name (if your nameis less than six characters, enter completename), and the last four digits of your Social Security number. For example, if your nameis John Williams, and the last four digits of your Social Security number are 1234, your username will look like this: jwillia1234.
    3. Enter your password. Your password is your date of birth in a number format without any punctuation, starting with the year you were born, then the month, and then the day (YYYYMMDD). For example, if your date of birth is January 5, 1970, your password will look like this: 19700105.

    Once you have logged in, you will be prompted to change your password. After doing this, you will have full access to view your current benefits, update your personal information and elections, and review plan documents.

    If you prefer to speak directly to a representative who will assist you in making your elections and help with technical support, please call the Benefit Center toll-free at (844)347-2504. Representatives are available 7 a.m.–10 p.m. CST, Monday–Friday. When you call, the Benefit Center will ask you to verify the last four digits of your Social Security number and your date of birth. The representative will then walk you through your personal information on file to confirm its accuracy. Please be prepared to first provide verbal authorization if you would like your spouse to speak with a representative on your behalf.
