• Wiederstein Library hosts many reading programs throughout the year. The purpose of our reading programs is to have FUN while READING and to celebrate our reading ACCOMPLISHMENTS. 


    Types of Reading Programs: 

    * Monthly Challenges

    * Read 100 Books/Chapters by the 100th Day of School

    * Spring Reading Program

    * Battle of the Books (2nd - 4th Graders)

    * Summer Reading Program (with the Schertz Public Library)

Read 100 Reading Program

Reading log are handed out at school. Here is the document in case you need to print from home.

  • Reading Log #1

    Write each short book (i.e. picture books, nonfiction books, graphic novels) read on a space. If a child is reading chapter books, each chapter can be written on a space. 


    Children may be read to or they may read independently. 


    Once this reading log is complete, bring it to the library for a small prize. Mrs. Neal will give you the second reading log to continue reading to 100.


    **January 27, 2022 is currently the 100th day of school.

Monthly Reading Challenges


  • To complete the library's reading challenges:

    • Read books you have at home.
    • Read books you purchase.
    • Read books you borrow from another library.
    • Read books from the Wiederstein Library.


    You can find book lists on the library catalog in the "Collections" section.



    • In order to qualify for the prize, write the TITLES of the BOOKS you READ on the BACK of the paper!!
    • A parent/guardian's signature must be present on the paper.
    • The paper MUST be turned in by the DUE DATE.


    Turn in the challenge paper to Mrs. Neal by the due date.
