I was born and raised in Houston, Texas and graduated from Klein Oak High School in 2002. I had aspirations to become an athletic trainer my sophomore year of high school. I got accepted into The University of Texas at Austin and was blessed to spend 4 wonderful years there in the student trainer program. I graduated from UT Austin in 2006 and became a nationally certified and state licensed athletic trainer. I spent the next two years at Texas State University in San Marcos. Here I received my masters of Education and became a certified teacher. I also worked as a graduate assistant for the athletic training program at San Marcos High School.
Upon graduating in May 2008, I thankfully was hired at Brandeis High School in Northside ISD. I would open up a brand new high school as the Assistant Athletic Trainer as well as teach Sports Medicine and Health. I spent 7 years working as the Assistant Athletic Trainer and my last year I was promoted to the Head Athletic Trainer position. The vigorous athletic training schedule became a little much for my family and myself. I'm married to an amazing football coach and if you know anything about Texas high school football, that too is a little time consuming :).
After having my second child, my husband and I decided it was best for me to change careers and join a company known as Airrosti. I spent the past year working with this company as a certified recovery specialist (CRS) here at their Schertz location. This past year it became very evident to me that I needed to get back into the classroom. I missed working with and mentoring kids on a daily basis, and thus began my journey back into education.
I am extremely fortunate to have found a home here at Clemens High School in their Health Science department. I am beyond excited to get this new year started! My family and friends have been my biggest support system. I am thankful for my wonderful husband and my two children. Go Buffs!!!
