This is the website that contains the most recent information concerning the Samuel Clemens High School Mighty Buffalo Band.
Congratulations to the Mighty Buffalo Band for earning a First Division Superior Rating at UIL Marching Contest October 19th. This is the 29th consecutive UIL First Division for the Clemens Band program.
Congratulations to the Clemens Band program for 35 students being selected to the TMEA All District Band, 22 for the All Region Band, and 14 for the Area Band. .
The new Revised Wind Ensemble Sectional Schedule and Individual Playoff information is posted under "Important Upcoming Events". Be sure to review all the information, especially when the schedule is adjusted for holidays, etc. and the individual playoff deadlines for each UIL piece. Tuning charts are now past due.
The 2019-2020 Band Handbooks are posted under "Important Upcoming Events" and "My Resources". It is very important to review all information in both the combined SCUCISD Combined High School Band Handbook and the specific Clemens Band Handbook adendum.
Remember that physical forms must be on file before students can participate in summer band. This is a state mandated rule.
The 2019-2020 Band and Color Guard Fee Sheets are posted under "My Resources". Be sure to review all the information included, especially the payment deadlines.
Forms for the required physicals prior to summer band are posted under "My Resources". Physicals are state mandated for the 2019-2020 school year. All physicals must be completed and filed before May 30, 2019.
Be sure to check the Band Calendar frequently for updates and revisions as they occur.

Physicals are mandatory for all Band and Color Guard members for summer band and the 2019-2020 school year. This form must be completed in its entirity by a doctor and signed by both parent and student. Be sure to look for the multiple places signatures are required. Incomplete forms will be returned, delaying the approval process. Only this form is acceptable. Be sure to write in the Sport blank: "Band" or Band Color Guard". Only one physical form is necessary for students who plan to be involved in Band and a sport, however be sure to list what sports in addition to Band the student plans to participate in for the 2019-2020 school year.
Band and Color Guard Fee Sheets for the 2019-2020 school year are now posted under "My Resources".
Maintenance fees for school district owned instruments for the 2019-2020 school year will be collected and paid separately through My School Bucks.
The Football Schedule for the 2019-2020 school year is posted under "Important Upcoming Events" and "My Resources". The Varsity games are at the top of the page. The band does not perform at the scrimmage.
It is very important that all forms for the band program be completed, signed and returned.
This includes the Travel Permission form, UIL 8-hour rule form, the Physical form, and the 2019-2020 Band Handbook form when posted. Both the combined SCUCISD High School Band Handbook and the Clemens Band Handbook addendum is posted under "My Resources". Print the final page of the combined handbook document, sign and return. All forms are due no later than August 1, 2019. Remember that the off campus lunch privileges form for upperclassmen cannot be signed by a teacher until all required forms are returned and obligations taken care of.

Please review the list of SAT and ACT testing dates posted under "Clemens Band Calendar". Be sure to avoid registering for any testing dates that conflict with band events. These dates are now posted on the band calendar.Important Volunteer Information:
The District Volunteer website and application process is now active for the 2018-2019 school year.
All approved applications prior to June 5, 2019 will be valid for the 2018-2019 school year up to August 1, 2019.
The new portal for volunteer background check clearances for the 2019-2020 school year will be open this summer, and will be announced when available. Please enter the process as soon as possible to ensure a seamless transition over the summer.
This is very important, as we do not want to cause any delays in planned volunteer events.
Quick guide for becoming a Volunteer/Mentor:
Go to www.scuc.txed.net and click on the “Community Tab”
•Select “Volunteer/Mentor” in the drop-down menu
•Read and follow the instructions on the page for Non-SCUCISD Employees or for SCUCISD Employees
•Contact our Band Booster chaperone chairperson 5-7 business days after you have applied to see if you have been added to the list of Approved Volunteers. Mr. Petrisky will also check the list provided by the chaperone chairperson prior to any event to ensure compliance.

It is a combination of the SCUCISD High School Band Handbook that is shared by both Clemens and Steele programs, and a Clemens Band Handbook that contains Clemens Band specific information.

The district required Physical Form and the Travel Permission Form must be completed, signed and submitted before any student participates in any activities and events. These forms must be in our files before being allowed to travel with the band. The forms are located under "My Resources".
The Band Booster By-Laws are posted under "My Resources".
Click on "My Resources" for access to our Travel Permission form, Medical information form, and the UIL 8-hour rule form. All these forms, along with the back page of the Band Handbook are very important documents that must be returned with the proper signatures. No band student will be allowed to travel on district transportation to any events unless these forms are in our files.
Be sure to review the procedure for our school district's volunteer background check. Any person volunteering for any task must have completed the process and be placed on the school district's "cleared" list before their scheduled activity.
